Grupo Cajamar increases its investment allocated to the internationalisation of SMEs by 25 %

13 de Febrero, 2017

For the third year running, Grupo Cooperativo Cajamar has once again increased the finance made available to small and medium Spanish enterprises, by around 2,000 million euros, 5.1 more than last year. Lending to medium sized enterprises has experienced the largest growth, 30%, as one of the Group's strategic segments. Lending to large businesses has increased by over 8 %.

The agri-food business has also maintained its markedly positive trend, with the concession of 5,000 million euros in new finance to cooperatives, businesses and the agri-food industry. In addition to the above, knowledge transfer activities and value-added technical services have meant that Grupo Cooperativo Cajamar is still one of the biggest names in this sector, with a national market share of 15%.

According to the director of Business Banking and Agri-Food Business, Ricardo García, “Grupo Cooperativo Cajamar has helped Spanish businesses to secure the funds they need to develop their businesses, within Spain and abroad, offering new products and comprehensive advisory services, such as the International Platform, the CrediPyme, CrediAgro and CrediNegocio loans, the Public Funds Platform and the Retailers Platform, which have been especially designed to help Spanish SMEs”. Of particular note has been the focus of Spanish PMEs on driving their international expansion, partly reflected in the use they are making of Grupo Cajamar's international business credit facilities, which in 2016 grew by 50%, fostering a 25% increase in investment allocated to the international business of SMEs.
